Institution of Mechanical Engineers

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is one of the largest engineering professional bodies representing over 77,000 mechanical engineers, all who aim to improve the world by providing engineering solutions. The Institution plays a vital role in supporting the development needs of future engineers and its members. IMechE members are available through the Science and Engineering Ambassador Scheme to visit schools and universities to inspire young people about this diverse career path.

Mechanical engineers are involved in creating almost all the technological devices that impact on our every day lives, from automobiles to machine tools, household appliances to the robots that make computer chips, from power stations to satellites. Mechanical engineers are problem-solvers.
